Developments are forcing our children's classrooms to spill over into school parking lots

October 20th., 2005

Halton Hills - Georgetown: Council recently voted to amend our Town's official plan, to implement 38 recommendations they hope will accommodate and streamline the development process for this new, so-called; 'Corporate Culture' the Mayor's been boasting about in council when a developer was recently caught constructing without a permit.

Many in Town wonder what are the motivations behind these changes and if council is perhaps having problems noticing how the recent wave of residential development has resulted in classrooms spilling over into the parking lots of our new schools. There are no confirmed plans from the school board for any new schools, yet, council has signaled to developers, with their amendments to the Town's Official Plan, that Halton Hills is open for development business.
